Welcome to Excuse Me. By downloading, accessing, or using the Excuse Me mobile application (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By using the App, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) and that you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
Excuse Me is an AI-powered entertainment app that generates fictional excuses and response messages based on scenarios you provide. The content generated is for entertainment purposes only.
3. Use of the App
You agree to use the App for lawful purposes only. You must not:
- Use the App to harass, defraud, or harm another person
- Use the App to create content that is unlawful, defamatory, or infringes on others' rights
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or interfere with the App's functionality
- Use the App in any way that could damage, disable, or impair our services
- Use automated systems to access the App without permission
- Resell or redistribute the App or its content without authorisation
You are solely responsible for how you use any excuses, messages, or content generated by the App in your real-life communications.
4. Subscriptions
Excuse Me offers a free tier (5 excuse generations) and a Pro subscription (£4.99/month) that unlocks unlimited generations and additional features.
- Free trial. New subscribers receive a 3-day free trial. You will not be charged during the trial period and can cancel at any time before it ends to avoid charges.
- Billing. Subscription payments are handled by Apple via your App Store account. Billing occurs at the start of each subscription period.
- Auto-renewal. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Cancellation. You can cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID Settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Refunds. Refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with their policies.
5. Intellectual Property
The App, including all content, design, and code, is owned by Excuse Me and protected by intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.
Content generated by the App (excuses, messages) is yours to use personally. However, you may not use generated content for commercial redistribution or resale.
6. AI-Generated Content
Excuses and messages are generated by an AI model and are entirely fictional. We do not guarantee the accuracy, quality, or appropriateness of any generated content. Generated content should be reviewed before being used in real communications.
You are solely responsible for evaluating whether any generated excuse or message is appropriate for your specific situation and for any consequences that result from using it.
7. Disclaimers
The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any content generated will meet your expectations.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Excuse Me and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to damages resulting from the use of any generated content in real-life situations.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Excuse Me, its creators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the App, your use of generated content, or your violation of these Terms.
10. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via the App or email. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
11. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason, with or without notice.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
